This high protein smoothie recipe is not only packed with 30 plus grams of protein, but it also uses quality ingredients. You can absolutely use whatever brand of protein you are most comfortable with, but I will recommend my favorite protein for this particular recipe. This recipe specifies whey protein because it tends to give it more of a milkshake flavor than other types of protein. This high protein smoothie can be whipped up in a matter of minutes so it’s a great time-saver. Smoothies are also great for on-the-go eating if you’re busy running errands but still want to get a nutritional meal in. Now, let’s get to mixing!
Equipment
- High-powered blender like a Ninja or Vitamix
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup whole grass-fed milk (can use a milk substitute if desired)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup ice
- Just Ingredients vanilla whey protein powder
- 1 tablespoon organic peanut butter
- 1/4 avocado
- 1 frozen organic banana
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to blender and blend on high speed for 2-3 minutes or until smooth with no chunks of ice. You want to blend for a good amount of time so that the ice has a chance to break up and get smooth.
- Pour into a cup or jar and add any toppings you like! (Topping suggestions below)
